Chiefs' Teammates Hope Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce ‘Get Married And Have A Lot Of Kids’

Kansas City Chiefs long snapper James Winchester knew the relationship was for real when he saw Travis Kelce "smiling and blushing" over Taylor Swift's first appearance at the team's win over the Chicago Bears in September.

On Wednesday’s episode of the Like a Farmer podcast, Winchester told host Pat Spinosa he was skeptical of Kelce and Swift's rumored relationship until the moment the Chiefs' equipment manager pointed out the pop star in the Kelce family suite.

So then he went straight to the source: Travis Kelce.

"I’m like, ‘Hey man, that’s cool she’s here,’" Winchester recalled. "And he’s like, ‘What do you mean? Did they put her up on the Jumbotron or something?’ and I’m like, ‘No, no, Jay just told me.'"

That's when the "smiling and blushing" happened.

So the dating rumors were true. Swift showed up at 13 games — including the Chiefs' win in Super Bowl LVIII — to support her boyfriend. And while many NFL fans were annoyed by the constant T-Swift coverage during broadcasts, Winchester said the fanfare didn't bother the team at all.

"I mean I’m a fan of her because being around her this year and hearing everything she’s such a genuine person," he said. "And where it might’ve gotten old for people seeing all of that posted. For us, it was great. It wasn’t a distraction. Couldn’t be happier for Trav and her and that whole deal. It seems like a really good thing for him and her.

"Then her support all the way through the Super Bowl, it was awesome… For those out there who got a little tired of the T-Swift stuff when they were watching the Chiefs, I’m sure they got a little tired of them showing them too, so it was a mutual thing there. Getting to meet her family and have conversations with them throughout the year was fun."

And don't expect her to go away anytime soon. According to Winchester, an engagement could likely be on the horizon.

"I can definitely see it, yeah," Winchester said. "They’re very similar in a lot of ways. Being around Trav for the last nine years, I mean, I think they’re more similar than you would think. I wish the best for them. I’m going to go with what our kicker Harrison Butker said, ‘I hope you guys get married and have a lot of kids.’ So, you know, I’m like ‘hey, go for it, have a family.’ I’m happy for them."
