Caitlin Clark Thanks Iowa Fans In Social Media Post Following Final Home Game

The Iowa Hawkeyes women's basketball season isn't over yet. Caitlin Clark and her teammates travel to Albany, N.Y., this weekend for the Sweet 16 where they will face the 5th-seeded Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday afternoon.

Where the women's NCAA Tournament differs from the men's tournament, though, is that the early-round games are played in the higher-seeded team's home arena. Clark and the Hawkeyes won their Round of 64 and Round of 32 games at Carver Hawkeye Arena, including a 64-54 win over #8 West Virginia on Monday night.

Clark scored 32 points, though at one point she appeared to yell at the crowd to "stand the f*** up" when she felt they weren't quite hyped enough for her liking.

Still, Clark has a deep love for Iowa and the Hawkeyes fan base, and she posted several photos on Instagram with the caption, "Goodbye to my forever favorite arena. The countless memories I have in this place will be cherished forever. See you in Albany hawk fans."

OutKick's Dan Dakich delivered a great rant about Clark this week, including why she should be incredibly grateful to play at Iowa, where fans show up to support their women's basketball team in a way that many places do not.

For what it's worth, though, her heartfelt post shows that she knows what it's like to play her home games in a place with an electric atmosphere. She drew some of the largest crowds in the arena's history, so both should be grateful to one another.

I expect many Haweyes fans to make the 1,000-mile trip to MVP Arena in Albany to watch Clark and Iowa try to continue their mission to capture a National Championship, something the school has never experienced from either its men's or women's basketball team.

I'll be in Albany, covering the games for OutKick. Make sure to check back for updates.
