Guy Rigs Shotgun Blanks To Terrify Potential Thieves

What would happen if you heard a shotgun blast go off while trying to rob someone?

It's a great scenario to run through your head, and I think we all know the likely answer. You'd probably need to change your pants.

Well, I don't have much sympathy for criminals, and I'm definitely not alone. Enter the Youtube channel TheBlankBox.

Man uses blanks to terrify potential thieves.

I was scrolling through X Tuesday when I saw a clip of a man who had rigged shotgun blanks in order to give thieves the scare of a lifetime. This had to be viral, right? I mean, how could such an epic idea not be very-well known?

I found myself on the YouTube page for the original source of the content, and it turns out this guy has been doing this for years without much attention.

Well, that's going to change today. The concept is pretty simple. The man had a box rigged on his porch sitting out in the open, but things weren't as they appeared. The setup was rigged to fire the blanks as soon as someone attempted to steal it.

Get yourself some popcorn and beer because this is awesome. Make sure to hit me with your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com once you dive in.

If you're curious how the device worked, the guy appeared to have made them and sold them at one point. It's honestly fascinating.

Also, is this how brazen criminals are? Do they really just walk up to people's houses in the middle of the day and take off with packages? That's unhinged behavior, and I only hope sweet justice is waiting for them. Being a thief is scumbag behavior. How little do criminals fear to act like this in broad daylight.

My girlfriend did get her Christmas lights stolen in a relatively nice Washington, D.C. neighborhood several years ago, but that wasn't as brazen as the videos above.

Just insane behavior, and the guy who made this shotgun blanks contraption clearly had been pushed to a breaking point.

Now, I'm definitely not endorsing anyone to try to rig up a trap of your own, but I'm not going to deny these videos were awesome. Let me know what you think at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
