Harrison Ford Explains How A 'Boozy' Lunch With Jimmy Buffett Led To Actor's Pierced Ears

Harrison Ford has one person to blame/thank for having a pierced ear:

Jimmy Buffett.

Buffett passed away at the age of 76 last September, and his death sent shockwaves through the music industry.

He was an absolute titan in the world of music, and his tunes and vibe transcended just singing songs. He spawned a massive brand that is still alive and strong long after his death.

It turns out he also made a lasting impact on the "Indiana Jones" star.

Harrison Ford pierced his ear after a lunch with Jimmy Buffett.

Ford has flashed a pierced ear for years, and the origin of his fashion decision is now public. It all stemmed from crushing some drinks at lunch with the legendary singer.

"Jimmy Buffet was a cool guy. I remember one day that a long — some might say boozy — lunch with Jimmy and Ed Bradley, and it was Bradley's birthday. I saw both of them had earrings. So right after lunch, I got my ear pierced. That's just how infectious Jimmy's coolness is," Ford announced at the Keep the Party Going: A Tribute to Jimmy Buffett last week, according to People.

The "Star Wars" actor told the audience Buffett "was more than nice," and further elaborated the singer was, "Infectious enough for a 40-year-old man to spontaneously get his f---ing ear pierced. And infectious enough to create an entire culture around his music. There is no other way to say it: There will never be another like Jimmy.

I can't imagine how charismatic someone needs to be in order to inspire a dude to get an ear pierced after a single "boozy" lunch. Believe it or not, I've had a drink or two at lunch over the years, and I've never once ended up getting my ear pierced.

I guess the people I've had lunch with weren't nearly as infectious as Jimmy Buffett. Or, perhaps none of the dudes ever had pierced ears to begin with. We might never know.

What we do know is that the stories about Jimmy Buffett never get old. The man was in a league of his own, and it was impossible to have a bad time while listening to his music.

"Margaritaville" is one of the best songs ever recorded, and it's amazing how a cold margarita always manages to show up out of thin air once it comes on.

RIP to a true legend, and let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com on Harrison Ford rushing out to get his ear pierced after a few drinks with Jimmy Buffett.
