Courtney Love: 'Taylor Swift Isn't Important... Not As Famous As Madonna'

Courtney Love already doesn't have too many fans - ya know, after that whole Kurt Cobain murder conspiracy thing… but she may be gaining some now with her latest hot take - so long as you're not a Swiftie.

The ‘Hole’ singer had no love for Taylor Swift this past weekend after she went off on the pop star, even dubbing Taylor as "unimportant."

IS TAYLOR SWIFT BORING?

In a new interview with The Standard, Courtney Love went off on Beyoncé, Madonna and the overall state of women in music right now - but her harshest comments were left to Swift.

"Taylor Swift is not important. She might be a safe space for girls, and she’s probably the Madonna [as far as popularity goes] of now, but she's not interesting as an artist," Love declared.

Ut oh. Not interesting? Good luck telling Swifties that after they dropped $4,000 on a single ticket just to hear Taylor sing such  poetically brilliant lyrics like these from ‘Love Story':

"Romeo, take me somewhere we can be alone
I'll be waiting, all there's left to do is run
You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess
It's a love story, baby, just say, "Yes"

SWIFTIES ARE FURIOUS AT COURTNEY LOVE

Sure, Swift may be massively popular and a billionaire, but Love's argument is that she doesn't push the envelope any further than she needs to. She's not controversial - she has historically played it safe, and it's well known that Swift is a very calculated person. Everything she or her team does has an end goal to it. Which is why many people were hesitant about her and Travis Kelce when they first started dating. "She's only doing it to take over the Super Bowl!" some furiously typed away on their keyboards.

To that end, Love does have a point - Swift is an escape for millions of listeners across the globe, she's not a revolutionary or going to push the needle as much as a Janis Joplin, Tina Turner, Patty Smith or even a Courtney Love did into new genres. That doesn't make Taylor obviously any less important, she's just significant in different ways.

Swifties took to social media to show they weren't interested in anything Love had to say.

THERE'S MORE…

It wasn't just Taylor Swift that had Courtney Love in an uproar.

Regarding Lana Del Rey she said, "I haven’t liked Lana since she covered a John Denver song, and I think she should really take seven years off."

And the BeyHive isn't happy with her Beyoncé comments: "I like the idea of Beyoncé doing a country record because it’s about Black women going into spaces where previously only white women have been allowed, not that I like it much," she said. "As a concept, I love it. I just don’t like her music."

Madonna? Please, Courtney doesn't have time for her. "I don’t like her, and she doesn’t like me."

In the end, Courtney says that she wants women musicians to just be real again. "It’s great that there are so many successful women in the music industry, but lots of them are becoming a cliche" she told the media outlet.

One thing's for certain, there's only one Courtney Love who is willing to wage war on all these fan bases!
